Tesla Gets a 5,000-Robotaxi Cap in Clark County

Farzad boosted the Nevada permit vote and Elon's Starship cadence. The desk he runs on Grok Bot is still beating the S&P.

Nevada raised the cap. It did not launch Vegas.

On Aug. 20 the Nevada Transportation Authority unanimously approved Tesla Robotaxi, LLC's full AVNC application (docket 26-05015). The agenda item is a permit to use not more than 5,000 fully autonomous vehicles in the first 12 months, in Clark County, including Harry Reid and Henderson Executive airports. That expands the July 27 interim order that capped Tesla at 10 vehicles on the Strip corridor. 5,000 is a 12-month ceiling, not a launch plan. Tesla Cybercab chief engineer Eric Early told the hearing 5,000 has always been a ceiling, and Tesla would be extremely happy with about 2,500 in a year. Tesla's engineer later said the permit is focused on Clark County, not all of Nevada. Sawyer: commercial ops still need vehicle inspections, insurance, and rates. "Within 30 days" is Sawyer's estimate, not an NTA deadline. Tesla said it will start small, Model Ys first, then grow.

30 Starships a day. In 2030. An aim.

Elon: SpaceX is aiming to reach 30+ Starship launches a day in 2030, about 10k annualized, and still tiny versus airplane flights. This is an aim, not a 2026 flight count.

Catch the ship. Then fly it again.

Elon: SpaceX will probably catch the ship with the tower in a few months. First reflight of the ship end of this year or early next. No flight number.

Optimus plus Grok, one day

Elon: One day, Optimus + Grok will provide incredible medical care to all the people of Earth. Aspiration. Not a product, not a trial, not a cleared device.

The desk is still ahead of the S&P

Farzad: his Grok Bot stock desk is up +3.58% against the S&P 500. That matches the farzad.money close book. His post, not a new audited figure.
