Cybercab Launch Invites Show September 3 in Austin

Farzad boosted Tesla-branded Cybercab invites and Grok Bot going wider. He says AI is the best thing that can happen to blue-collar work.

Tesla-branded invites show September 3. Tesla has not printed it.

Tesla-branded Cybercab Launch Event invites posted Aug. 22 by Sawyer Merritt and Gail Alfar show 09.03.26 in Austin. Tesla Robotaxi and tesla.com already confirmed an exclusive, invite-only Austin event (five sweepstakes winners, not public tickets). Tesla, Elon, and Tesla IR have not published that date. tesla.com still does not list it. This is a launch event, not Tesla's confirmation of Robotaxi service start or a new production-start date. Robotaxi already launched in June 2025 on Model Y. Tesla said in the July 22 Q2 update that Cybercab began production at Giga Texas. Sweepstakes terms let Tesla change date, location, or format.

Grok Bot is opening up

SpaceXAI said Aug. 21 that Grok Bot is now included with SuperGrok Plus, Cursor Pro+, and Cursor Teams. Heavy and Ultra already had it at the Aug. 11 beta. Other users get a limited-usage free trial. Cursor documents that as a usage credit with a 7-day window. A long agent job can burn the credit in one run. Cursor Pro and basic SuperGrok do not include it. Farzad: Here we go. Access, not a new Grok model.

Extra high is #1 on CursorBench. Default High is not.

Elon said Aug. 21 that Grok 4.6 on extra-high thinking mode is #1 on Cursor's CursorBench 3.2. Cursor's published Extra High figure is 70.8% vs Fable 5 Max 70.5%. Default High is 69.9%. Cursor warns small gaps may not be meaningful. Farzad asked about a missing Grok Build effort picker. xAI documents /effort and default_reasoning_effort, so that is a UI complaint, not a confirmed lockout. Cursor runs CursorBench.

A local IBEW officer wants more data centers

Don Slaiman, political coordinator of IBEW Local 26, wrote in a New York Times guest essay dated Aug. 21, 2026, that electricians "want to build more data centers" and that "Data centers are the best opportunity in generations for blue-collar workers to attain a portion of the American dream." He is a local officer, not the national IBEW president. This is an opinion essay, not a contract or a bill. Farzad: AI is literally the best possible thing for blue collar workers. That line is Farzad's, not Slaiman's. Polymarket's JUST IN card was a paraphrase of the essay.

The best case, on purpose

Opinion, not a forecast: ex-Tinder CPO Brian Norgard wrote Aug. 21, "AI will eliminate millions of fake corporate jobs and create millions of real entrepreneurs." Farzad called that the best case scenario. His view, not a jobs print.
