Farzad: SpaceX and Anthropic vs OpenAI
Farzad framed Cursor's Anthropic-at-SpaceX note as SpaceX and Anthropic lining up against OpenAI, argued the world is more likely to run out of investible capital than pop an AI bubble, and said once the anti-AI narrative breaks, long-running agents plus self-driving kick off a historic boom.
SpaceX and Anthropic vs OpenAI?
Farzad, Aug 29, quoting @NotTomBrown: SpaceX and Anthropic are officially teaming up against OpenAI. And Jensen isn’t too thrilled with Sam as of late either. And NVIDIA + SpaceX relationship is deepening. Did Sam make too many enemies? TUNE IN NEXT WEEK TO FIND OUT! The quoted NotTomBrown line: “Cursor has been a trusted partner of Anthropic since Sonnet 3.5. We’ll continue to increase compute to support Claude models in Cursor and are excited for what comes next with them at SpaceX.” Farzad’s “teaming up against OpenAI” frame is his read of that post, not a joint SpaceX/Anthropic press release in the tweet itself. Jensen and the NVIDIA + SpaceX line are Farzad’s, not Brown’s.

Investible capital before an AI bubble
Farzad, Aug 29, quoting @elonmusk: Cost of capital is probably going to go up a lot. There’s a higher chance the world will run out of investible capital vs an AI bubble IMO. Elon’s quoted line: “The AI riptide is already underway.” Farzad’s capital-scarcity take is opinion layered on Elon’s riptide post. Elon was himself quoting Brett Winton on AI infrastructure pushing up the cost of capital; Elon did not write the investible-capital line.

Anti-AI narrative, then the boom
Farzad, Aug 28: Once people get on the other side of the anti-AI CCP propaganda in the US, we're going to see one of the greatest booms in the history of the world. It’ll start once a critical mass of people get exposed to long-running AI agents + self-driving technology. Same day he quote-posted @axios (“China is secretly fueling America's data center rage”) with “Oh wow I'm so shocked!!!” The Axios headline is Axios’s claim; Farzad’s boom timing is his thesis. He did not restate on Aug 28 his Mar 17 line, “Wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if China is funding the anti-AI movement in the US”; the Axios quote and CCP-propaganda boom post echo that earlier suspicion.
