Farzad: SpaceX Will Cast Turbine Blades In-House
Farzad quote-tweeted Elon on SpaceX in-house turbine casting and 100GW/year solar, reposted Kalshi that NASA chief Jared Isaacman says Starship nearly every week in 2027, and reposted a bigger Robotaxi service area in Dallas.
SpaceX will cast turbine blades in-house
Elon, Aug 29: SpaceX and Tesla are each building 100GW/year of solar production capacity as fast as possible, but natural gas will still be needed to supplement and bootstrap solar for several years. The limiting factor for nat gas turbine production is casting the blades and vanes. By doing in-house casting at SpaceX, we can accelerate nat gas turbines coming online by up to 18 months, which is a profound game-changer. Farzad quote-tweeted Elon’s post. Sawyer recapped it and added that Tesla filed an application this month for a $10.1 billion vertically integrated solar cell manufacturing facility in Fort Bend County, Texas, aiming to start construction this year and finish in 2028, with commercial operations starting in Q1 2029. The 100GW/year and 18-month lines are Elon’s. The Fort Bend filing details are Sawyer’s, not in Elon’s tweet.

Starship nearly every week in 2027
Kalshi, Aug 29: JUST IN: NASA chief says SpaceX is set to launch Starship nearly every week in 2027. Farzad reposted. The NASA chief is Jared Isaacman, on Fox News Jesse Watters Primetime Aug 29. Circulating clip: “I think you’re going to start seeing Starships launch on a near weekly cadence going into 2027.” That cadence is Kalshi’s report of Isaacman’s remark, not a SpaceX launch license or a Farzad count.
