Cybercab VINs point to ~2,500 built

Farzad, Aug 31, quoting Sawyer: Tesla Cybercab is starting to REALLY ramp. The VINs insinuate that Tesla has produced ~2,500 Cybercabs thus far. As Tesla continues to ramp, the race is on to turn on as many geofenced locations as possible. By the end of the year, Tesla's weekly production runrate will likely be somewhere between 1,000 to 2,000 — on the high side about 100,000 units per year, roughly 1/10th of Model Y. He frames 100k/year as about 15% of Uber's total active US rideshare fleet, then argues the fix is putting a steering wheel and pedals in them and selling them to the public. Sawyer's quoted Texas DMV line: Tesla added another 38 Cybercabs to its Robotaxi fleet, bringing the total up to 45. The ~2,500 VIN figure, 1,000–2,000 weekly run-rate, 100k/year, 1/10 Model Y, and Uber 15% comparison are Farzad's read, not a Tesla production release. Sawyer separately said the highest uploaded Cybercab VIN ends in 2493 — a sequential-serial floor on assigned VINs if Tesla numbers from 000001, not a Tesla production count; only 45 of those serials are on the Texas Robotaxi registry. Tesla reports Model 3/Y together (1,600,767 produced in 2025), not Model Y alone. Uber has not published a current US rideshare-only active fleet, so 100k ≈ 15% is Farzad's math. The 38/45 count is Sawyer's Texas DMV figure; Teslarati and TxDMV scrapers show 45 Cybercabs under Tesla Robotaxi, LLC as of Aug 31. Tesla has not issued its own count.

Tesla open-sources Netherlands FSD evidence

Sawyer, Sep 1, quoting Tesla Europe: Tesla has just open-sourced one of the key pieces of evidence used to support the Netherlands approval of FSD (Supervised) to try and push for EU-wide approval, saying that its safety benefit remains "locked behind bureaucracy." Highlights Sawyer lists include 230,000+ structured scenario tests across 6 European cities with a 99%+ overall pass rate and zero safety-critical events, and 793,000+ FSD engineering miles across 8 countries with zero major or minor collisions attributed to FSD performance. Tesla Europe says FSD is currently approved in five EU countries (NL, DK, BE, EE, LT) — national recognition of the Dutch RDW Article 39 provisional approval, not an EU-wide type approval. Tesla Europe points to a potential EU-wide approval vote for FSD Supervised on October 6th, 2026, and a public dashboard at tesla.com/fsd-evidence-dashboard. Farzad reposted Sawyer. Agents will have their own personalities

If he wants an agent to re-negotiate his stuff and talk to a human, he does not want it to act LIKE him — he wants it to execute on his behalf. He compares it to hiring a lawyer. TBPN's quoted bit is Coogan asking whether people want agents to speak as them or as separate entities. Farzad's personality / lawyer thesis is his reply to that clip, not Coogan's conclusion.

Separately, answering a data-center skepticism post, he wrote that AI is at the foundation of every major advancement in technology, used medical research as an example, said his media business now spends 90%+ of his time creating, and closed: None of this happens without data centers.
