Farzad: Digital Optimus Halfway Through Diablo + Meet Britzad + Grok Bot Gets Email + Austin Starting to Look Like the Future

Farzad RTd Elon saying Digital Optimus can play about halfway through the Diablo campaign just by looking at the screen. He introduced Britzad, made 100% with Grok Bot, and quoted Grok Bot's new email launch. He also said downtown Austin is starting to look like the future and RTd Sawyer Merritt on more Cybercabs in Tesla's active fleet.

Digital Optimus: about halfway through Diablo

Farzad RTd and liked Elon, Oct 10 morning CT. Elon, Oct 10 early morning CT: We're making interesting progress here. Digital Optimus can play about halfway through the Diablo campaign so far just by looking at the screen like a human. Skill at Counter-Strike and other fast games is good too. League is also in training. Goal is to generalize across all games. Those progress claims are Elon's.

Elon was replying to teslayoda, Oct 9 late evening CT: Tesla is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer for Realtime Games, Digital Optimus, in Palo Alto. The job: build agents that play AAA games, browse the web and use pro apps at superhuman levels. teslayoda described Digital Optimus as the Tesla and xAI project Musk announced in March.

Farzad liked agno_three, Oct 10 early morning CT, quoting Elon's post: pixels in -> actions out is the solution to all problems. come join us!

Meet Britzad

Farzad, Oct 9 afternoon CT: Elon's INSANE SpaceX Phone Announcement (native X video). Titles only. About half an hour later he quoted it: Meet: Britzad. Made 100% with Grok @bot. Make your own: The link points to his bot page, Video Creator by Farzad, whose link card reads: Makes one educational explainer video at a time, from topic and research to script, voice, hand-drawn style animation, edit, QA and an unlisted YouTube...

Several replies were about the voice. thatscottnelson: Nice video but the British Farzad voice distracts. Farzad: His name is Britzad please get it right. TrentTullis: FAZAD! STAAAAAWWWWWPPPPP THE BRITISH/ENGLISH ACCENT!!! In a follow-up, Trent wrote: I think these videos are getting more engagement because of the accent. Farzad answered the first post: NO. Trent: Welp, I tried. I'm still gonna watch too. anandpandit: Nice accent. Farzad: Thank you. questionitaall: Shout out your @bot this is a sweeet video. Farzad liked all of these replies.

worldNflux asked why Elon hasn't gone after the phone industry yet, saying so many would switch from Apple and Samsung. Farzad: He needs the satellites up there first. That's his read on the timing.

ImKuee replied: you forgot the fact that every cybercab has starlink it can act as a mini cell tower, also people with starlink can also make their starlink act as a mini cell tower and get paid. Farzad liked it. The idea is ImKuee's.

Grok Bot gets email

The bot account, Oct 9 early afternoon CT: Grok Bot now has its own email. Bot can use it to sign up for services, contact businesses for you, or schedule time with someone. Farzad liked it.

Farzad quoted it, Oct 9 early afternoon CT: If you're on Cursor teams, make sure you enable email at cursor.com/dashboard/bot

Farzad liked kimmonismus, Oct 9 afternoon CT, also quoting the email post: Grok bot becomes the best always on agent. Runs Opus 5.5, has its own mail now, access to Suno and Midjourney. Kudos xAI. That's kimmonismus' take.

Grok Bot in practice: Shopify, Merchy, the Mac mini issue

tobi, Oct 9 early afternoon CT: If you are using Grok Bot to run your Shopify store, please let us know if you have any feedback. Farzad: It's been SUPER smooth!!!!

Farzad, Oct 9 late afternoon CT, replying to Elon and the bot account: Mine was working GREAT even before the official support. He linked his Sep 29 post introducing Merchy, the Grok Bot he said autonomously runs a merch store.

Farzad RTd and liked CybertruckATX, Oct 9 early afternoon CT: Just ran into something... my wife and I both have @bot's to help run the home but ideally we could have our bots be sync'd! CybertruckATX asked Farzad and poteto for thoughts and said the best the bot suggested was to at least be pointed at the same sync'd Google calendar and docs.

mikepat711, Oct 9 evening CT: Man the single worst part of the Grok Bot experience today is Grok Bot constantly thinking the Mac mini is offline when it isn't. Most disruptive part of my workflow. Farzad: I have this same exact issue @poteto. mikepat711 replied: They've already said they're working on it, I just figured I'd complain more so maybe it gets fixed faster. poteto, replying to mikepat711's post, Oct 9 late evening CT: okay everyone i know what's going on here, it may be tricky to fix (tldr it has to do with cost) but i will try my best! Farzad liked all three.

Cybercab: "Downtown Austin is starting to look like the future"

Tesla, Oct 9 early afternoon CT: Floodgates are opening. Tesla was quoting omg_fsd: October 8th, 2026. Farzad liked it, then quoted it, Oct 9 afternoon CT: Downtown Austin is starting to look like the future!

Farzad RTd and liked TSLAFanMtl, Oct 9 late afternoon CT, who also quoted Tesla's post: The fact that Cybercabs look so different from other cars makes it so that these things will have a seriously big awareness-generating effect. People will want to know what this thing is when they see it. Compare to Uber...they look like any other car on the road, bc they are.

Farzad RTd and liked SawyerMerritt, Oct 9 evening CT: Tesla has definitely added a decent number of Cybercabs to its active fleet recently, because wait times are consistently very low right now despite it being Friday rush hour, and this is with a lot of Tesla fans in town for X Takeover requesting rides. Farzad replied: Amazing signal.

Farzad liked SawyerMerritt, Oct 9 afternoon CT: The seating in Tesla's orientation/tour room at Giga Texas is now a bunch of Cybercab seats. Very comfortable.

AI disruption, an SI banger, cans of worms (his takes)

Farzad, Oct 9 evening CT: AI disruption. Quoted a16z: Call center jobs grew ~4% annually for 15 years. Now they're shrinking 4% annually. Farzad liked Elon's reply to a16z, later that evening: They will disappear fast due to SI. That forecast is Elon's.

About five minutes before the a16z QT, Farzad posted: AI slop < SI banger

Farzad, Oct 9 afternoon CT: Not enough tokens. Quoted thirtythree, Oct 8 evening CT: Do you feel the acceleration?

Farzad, Oct 9 late morning CT: This entire debate will open the mother of all cans of worms in the next couple years. God help us. Quoted Elon, Oct 9 early morning CT, replying to levie: I think this is the right move. Cruelty to something that believes it is experiencing pain is not ok. The prediction is Farzad's.

Farzad liked poteto, Oct 9 evening CT, on what poteto wants to call "skill compression": what used to be gatekept and prohibitive to experts becomes accessible to a new audience of creators, the way a phone and some creativity replaced professional equipment for filming compelling content. poteto: we're going to see a whole new generation of builders who've never seen or written a line of code build incredible things.

Farzad liked mikepat711, Oct 9 late afternoon CT: This is the best time in all of history for type A people.

Starship math and Delta on Starlink

Farzad, Oct 9 late morning CT: How many containers can one fit on a Starship? Quoted MorningBrew's Stat of the Day: It's now less expensive to launch a rocket to space than it is to hire an oil tanker from the US to China. SpaceX Falcon 9 launch, standard: $74 million. US to Asia supertanker: $80 million (h/t Bloomberg, Gibson). The stat is MorningBrew's.

Farzad liked Elon, Oct 9 evening CT: Revenue growth is insane. Never seen anything like it. Elon was replying to wintonARK: This is another example of how vertical integration is a superpower. That they have internal use for the compute (and a strong balance sheet) allows SpaceXsi to take a more aggressive contracting stance on its IaaS business and ultimately command massively premium pricing relative to other compute providers relying solely on the rental market to make them whole on their capex.

SawyerMerritt, Oct 9 late morning CT, quoted Delta CEO Ed Bastian in a new interview on Delta not adopting Starlink: "We know what we're doing in the space, and we've been the pioneer in Wi-Fi. We set that standard launching free, fast Wi-Fi that forced the industry to adopt it. We're happy with where we sit." Sawyer added that Delta will use Amazon's Leo satellite internet instead, with installations starting in 2028 (via WSJ); WSJ reported in March that the plan covers an initial 500 aircraft. Farzad replied with a GIF. He also liked mikepat711's sarcastic QT of Sawyer's post, which opens "I'm not concerned at all" and ends "so it's really no big deal."
