Farzad: "Amount Spent" Is Not "Impact Delivered" + Trump Thanks Elon, Says Kids Get SpaceX Stock Through Trump Accounts + Grok Bot Users Hit a New Peak

Trump thanked Elon on Monday afternoon for his SpaceX share pledge, saying the stock goes to kids through Trump Accounts. Late Monday evening, Farzad pushed back on Forbes: amount spent is not impact delivered. Tesla asked shareholders to vote FOR all three Dec 3 proposals, and Similarweb said Grok Bot daily active users hit a new peak.

"Through TRUMP ACCOUNTS"

Elon's Monday pledge post didn't say how the shares would reach kids. By Monday afternoon, Trump had named a route.

realDonaldTrump, Oct 19 at 4:24pm CT: A BIG THANK YOU to our legendary friend, @ElonMusk, for his incredible generosity in giving SpaceX Stock to millions of American children through TRUMP ACCOUNTS!

He wrote that this "is exactly what was envisioned when we created TRUMP ACCOUNTS" and closed with: "Thank you Elon!" Farzad RTd it at 5:18pm CT. He also liked the post.

altcap, Oct 19 at 7:05am CT: Incredible Elon! This will be the largest philanthropic gift in history! He cited "70 M accounts" and wrote that "every citizen under 18 & every child born forevermore now has a free, lifetime investment acct". The post tagged @TrumpAccounts. In a 9:10am CT reply that Farzad liked, altcap added that this "was the dream of the Invest America Act".

Elon replied to altcap's 7:05am post at 11:25am CT, with @gjurvetson and @TrumpAccounts also tagged: Thanks for helping enable this. Farzad liked it. At 12:13pm CT, Farzad quoted altcap: Brad Gerstner deserves the Medal of Freedom @altcap. Make it happen @realDonaldTrump.

The "largest philanthropic gift in history" label and the 70 M figure are altcap's. Trump and altcap spell out the Trump Accounts route. Elon's pledge post doesn't.

"Dumb metric"

Forbes, Oct 19 at 5:30pm CT: On Monday morning, Elon Musk pledged on his social media app X to give one of his 4.8 billion SpaceX shares (not counting restricted shares and options) to every kid in America next year. The world's richest person has only given away .05% of his fortune so far to those in need.

The 4.8 billion share count and the .05% figure are Forbes's.

Farzad quoted it at 11:48pm CT: People keep making the mistake of equating amount spent with impact delivered. They are not the same thing.

His example was SpaceX vs any other rocket company: "SpaceX spent a fraction of the big guys and delivered 100x+ better results." He ended: "Dumb metric."

That's Farzad's view. The "fraction" and the "100x+" are his estimates, and the post doesn't show how he measured them.

Check Forbes here. Farzad's quote here.

"1000x more effective"

Farzad made a similar argument earlier Monday. GaryMarcus, Oct 19 at 8:46am CT, tagging altcap: "even if Elon actually carries through with this (not a guarantee) he will have given away less than 2% of his fortune, which is an order of magnitude less than Bill Gates has."

Farzad quoted him at 2:33pm CT: I'm willing to bet Elon's direct contribution will be 1000x more effective and efficient than the NGOs Bill Gates/Buffet leveraged.

He also put the share of Gates and Buffett giving that was "probably wasted/corrupted away by greedy/corrupt operators" at 90%+.

The 1000x is a bet, in his words, and the 90%+ comes with a "probably." He doesn't show numbers for either. The under 2% comparison is Marcus's.

At 12:40pm CT, Farzad had posted: NEVER try to make people like you. "You could LITERALLY build a flying car and donate $10 billion to children, and people will STILL find ways to shit on you." It ended: "JUST DO COOL SHIT!!!!!"

Check GaryMarcus here. Farzad's quote here. The 12:40pm post here.

"The next level"

Elon, Oct 19 at 10:58am CT, replying to Geiger_Capital: Yes, giving shares, which are stakes in the future economy, directly to the people is the way.

Farzad RTd it at 11:37am CT. He also liked the post.

Thirty minutes later, at 12:07pm CT, Farzad wrote: Elon's decision to donate a % of his stock to every American child is an INCREDIBLE first step.

Then: "We need to take it to the next level and allow the Sovereign Wealth Fund (and Social Security) to take positions in AI companies and equally distributed the dividends to US citizens."

He was quoting his own post from March 20, 2025: The US Sovereign Wealth Fund should purchase stock in companies that generate dividends from AI earnings and equally distribute those dividends to US citizens. That post went on: "As AI earnings explode, US citizens will directly benefit." And: "UBI without raising a penny of taxes."

That's Farzad's proposal and his projection. His version runs through the Sovereign Wealth Fund and Social Security, not private donors. Nothing in these posts says the government plans to do it.

Tesla asks for a FOR vote

Yesterday's Digest covered the Dec 3 ballot. On Monday morning, Tesla made its own pitch.

Tesla, Oct 19 at 9:31am CT, asked shareholders to vote "FOR" all three proposals at the Dec 3 annual meeting, "including the re-election of Elon Musk, Robyn Denholm and JB Straubel to Tesla's Board."

The post says Tesla laid out its vision last year for "building a world of amazing abundance" and that this year "it's been coming to life." It adds: "Your vote is critical to helping us maintain that momentum." Voting instructions and control numbers are to follow soon, per the post.

These are Tesla's claims. Farzad liked the post.

At 2:07pm CT, Farzad RTd his Sunday poll on a SpaceX and Tesla merger, which yesterday's Digest covered.

A new Grok Bot peak

Similarweb, Oct 20 at 3:33am CT: Grok Bot's daily active users continue to grow, reaching a new peak on October 17.

Farzad RTd it at 7:12am CT. He also liked the post. The post's text doesn't give a user count.

Elon, Oct 19 at 11:27am CT: Grok @Bot might turn out to be your favorite employee. He was quoting a BrianRoemmele post that opened: Once You Really Grok Bot, You Never Go Back To Non-Grok Bot. Farzad liked Elon's post and replied at 11:37am CT: The best.

SawyerMerritt, Oct 19 at 1:42pm CT: Cool, you can now talk to Grok Bot using the Action Button on your iPhone. Farzad replied at 1:45pm CT: YES! He also liked the post.

"Left behind extremely hard"

Farzad, Oct 19 at 11:42am CT: If you're someone who's bitching and whining about AI, and are not using the time RIGHT NOW to start adopting it, you are going to be left behind extremely hard.

His advice: "Use your time to develop useful skills for the new economy that's coming regardless of how you feel about it." That's his view.
