Farzad: SpaceX Says Its Board Formed a Committee to Evaluate a Tesla Combination + His Bet on a Merger Before July 2027 + "By 2028 SpaceX Will Be Ahead of Everyone Forever"

SpaceX confirmed Thursday afternoon that its board formed a special committee to evaluate a combination with Tesla, per SawyerMerritt, and by late evening Farzad was setting merger bet terms. Earlier he projected SpaceX would be "ahead of everyone forever" by 2028. Late Thursday he called two weeks of selling a "generational buy the dip moment."

"Merger done before July 1st, 2027"

SawyerMerritt, Oct 22 at 3:30pm CT: SpaceX has just officially confirmed today that the SpaceX board of directors has formed a special committee to evaluate a potential combination between SpaceX and @Tesla.

The post then quotes SpaceX: "No determination by our special committee has been made regarding any potential combination". The live post goes on: any combination "would be subject to further approval by our special committee, our board of directors and our controlling shareholder," and "there can be no assurance that any agreement will be reached." SawyerMerritt says the statement comes from SpaceX's new quarterly filing with the SEC.

Farzad quoted it at 3:45pm CT: By Q4 2026 earnings, $SPCX can name its price and $TSLA investors would agree.

TeslaBoomerMama replied at 3:55pm CT: Not so sure about that. Farzad, 4:54pm CT: Wanna bet? TeslaBoomerMama, a minute later: formulate more precisely.

Farzad answered at 9:28pm CT: No one will want to miss the SpaceX earnings rocket ship. He went on: "Tesla investors will want a tax-free way to liquidate into the merged company," which he called "FAR more exciting" short to midterm. He'd typed "shot" there and corrected it to "short" a minute later.

TeslaBoomerMama, 9:30pm CT: ok, now what do we bet, as it has to be measurable. Farzad, 9:35pm CT: Merger done before July 1st, 2027. His second line put the premium at 30% or less.

A merger premium is what a buyer pays above a company's market price. His posts don't say which side's shareholders would get it. This pull doesn't show any stakes, or whether TeslaBoomerMama took the bet.

The committee and the "no determination" line come from SpaceX, as SawyerMerritt posted them. The name-its-price call, the July 2027 date and the premium cap are Farzad's projections. So is his read on what Tesla investors will want.

"Ahead of everyone forever"

AlternateJones, Oct 22 at 6:41am CT: This is the last quarter Tesla will make more revenue than SpaceX. After this, SpaceX will always be ahead.

Farzad quoted it at 1:57pm CT: And by 2028 SpaceX will be ahead of everyone forever.

Both are projections. Neither post gives a revenue number for either company. SpaceX's quarter is covered in our full breakdown of the SpaceX earnings call.

About two hours earlier, at 11:40am CT, Farzad RTd ALScyborg's ranked list of Elon's top 8 posts of the week, posted at 10:58am CT. Number 3 is an Elon line: "$1T in SpaceX revenue in 2028 is no longer impossible". Number 1 is "The new Roadster flies," with Elon's "Turns out the future does have flying cars." Number 2 is a SpaceX share for every kid in America. Number 4 is Tesla's Q3, with FSD, Optimus and Cybercab. The rest of the list covers Star Mind with Nvidia, new ad rules on X, Neuralink and the midterms. The ranking is ALScyborg's. The quoted lines are Elon's as ALScyborg lists them.

At 9:13pm CT, Farzad posted: Starship will deliver its offspring. The line above it says "Starkink," which looks like a typo for Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet network, "will be ASI's nervous system." ASI is artificial superintelligence. That framing is Farzad's.

"A batshit crazy feat of engineering"

At 2:17pm CT on Oct 22, Farzad posted a video titled Elon Musk's New Obsession Is Actually Crazy. He quoted it at 2:23pm CT and told people to watch it to learn why Elon and SpaceX "bringing turbine blade manufacturing in house is not only a HUGE deal" but also "a batshit crazy feat of engineering." He added: Almost as insane as chip manufacturing. Then: Super underrated.

In house means SpaceX makes the blades itself instead of buying them. Farzad's post is the only source in this pull for that move. It doesn't say when the move started or what the blades are for.

That morning he'd posted that a deep dive on turbine blades was melting his mind. IssertellJason replied at 8:04am CT: I used to be a turbine design engineer at GE Aviation. Blades are alien technology! Farzad, 11:22am CT: BRO IT'S CRAZY. The GE Aviation background is IssertellJason's own description.

"Generational buy the dip moment"

amitisinvesting, Oct 22 at 10:17pm CT: so how are folks feeling

The post asks if people are "nervous, excited, worried?" or if "the market is doing what the market always does." It describes a "pretty violent 2 weeks of sustained selling with today being the worst" and names "coreweave bonds" as one catalyst before the text cuts off. CoreWeave is a neocloud, one of the companies that rent out AI compute.

Farzad replied at 10:25pm CT: Generational buy the dip moment. Then: "Anyone who uses agents seriously can see that we are just getting started." And: "This is like asking if there's room in the electric grid buildout in 1910."

BillalDesert, 10:29pm CT: "The only problem is what to buy there is a lot on noise to find the real value". Farzad, 10:31pm CT: Just buy SpaceX and go to sleep. At 10:48pm CT he quoted that reply: I hereby declare that all rights associated to the below now belong to me I do declare $SPCX

The buy call and the 1910 grid comparison are Farzad's. amitisinvesting's post, as far as this pull shows, doesn't say which stocks fell or by how much.

"Long Cryptography"

AndrewCurran_, Oct 22 at 8:09pm CT: Quest Diagnostics has been hacked. Patient data was exposed. They serve roughly half of U.S. hospitals and physicians. Investigation ongoing.

Farzad quoted it at 9:03pm CT: Long Cryptography.

"Long" is investor slang for betting that something goes up. He didn't add anything else. AndrewCurran_'s post doesn't say how Quest was breached, and the "roughly half" figure is AndrewCurran_'s.

Earlier, at 7:22pm CT, Farzad RTd a 6:43pm CT post from davelee: AI found two critical holes in PHP that had been there since 2012, and then the secret leaked before the patch was ready. PHP is a programming language that a lot of websites run on. davelee attached a short video on why it's "a big deal."

Then on Friday at 12:14am CT, he RTd a 7:40pm CT post from NickADobos: 3% of "critical" software security bugs, in all of recorded history, have been found in the last month. The post says that's "on pace to find another ~100,000 bugs this year alone, adding ~26% more vulnerabilities to the all time total." Then: "Do you realize how fucking insane that is?" The 3%, ~100,000 and ~26% are NickADobos's numbers. The text doesn't name a source.

"Would transform American logistics forever"

typesfast, Oct 22 at 2:17pm CT: Boring Company building a tunnel from Long Beach to the Inland Empire so we can move containers on electric self-driving chassis at 100 mph average speed (versus ~10 mph today) would transform American logistics forever.

Farzad RTd it at 11:45pm CT.

Long Beach has one of the busiest container ports in the US. The Inland Empire, east of Los Angeles, is a major warehouse region. A chassis is the wheeled frame a shipping container rides on.

Note the word "would." The idea is typesfast's, and nothing in this pull says Boring Company plans this tunnel. The 100 mph and ~10 mph figures are typesfast's.

"Are you using Grok Bot to make these videos?"

paulotbezerra, Oct 22 at 2:44pm CT: Your content is CRAZY GOOD lately. Are you using Grok Bot to make these videos? Farzad, 3:27pm CT: Yes.

At 7:48pm CT he quoted the turbine blade video: Made with my Grok @bot: followed by a link to an x.ai page titled Video Creator by Farzad. The page description says it "Runs an explainer video team end to end."

kayvz, 5:47pm CT: extremely impressed by grok @bot. The post says native apps are "far superior to the imessage (e.g. instinct) form factor," though iMessage "is easier to bootstrap for normies." The text cuts off after that. Farzad RTd it at 11:40pm CT.

Pushback from the last Digest's AI voice debate kept coming. tpgoebel, Oct 21 at 9:36pm CT, in the thread under davelee's post: Winning in the short term. Losing long term. Farzad, Oct 22 at 11:41am CT: How am I losing in the long term? At 12:37pm CT he posted a video titled Everyone Calls It AI Slop. Nobody Talks About Human Slop.

Friday at 12:01am CT, Farzad quoted an Elon post from April 2025: Elon calls it yet again (again (again)). Elon had written: "As I said a few years ago, the AI scaling constraint will move from chips to voltage transformers to electricity generation." It continues: "That is worrying for US leadership in AI long-term." These transformers are grid equipment that changes electricity's voltage, not the AI kind. Farzad didn't say what prompted the quote.

rohindhar, Oct 22 at 9:00pm CT: San Francisco home sale $10M over asking price. Farzad quoted it at 11:38pm CT: Abundance leads to massive inflation of scarce assets. Then: "There's no better time to invest in scarce assets that people will always value." JarettGross, 11:51pm CT: "Automation will make housing not scarce. Only desirable land and historical buildings will hold value." Farzad, 11:54pm CT: That house is a perfect example of at least one. The $10M is rohindhar's figure.

TSLAFanMtl, 9:36pm CT: "Tesla's Austin Robotaxi service's demand and supply curves are seemingly finding equilibrium at a higher price than Uber." The post says that means people "are actively choosing to spend more $ to take a Cybercab than it would cost them to take an Uber," then cuts off. Farzad, 10:30pm CT: It's like you never listen to me. TSLAFanMtl, a minute later: That's bc i don't. The pricing read is TSLAFanMtl's, and no fares appear in this pull.

At 9:16pm CT Farzad posted: AI is about to help make INSANE video games. At 9:33pm CT: If you love the work you do, AI is the greatest thing that could've ever happened. The next line: "We will look back at this time as the Start of the Golden Age of Entrepreneurship."
