Farzad: His "Super Hot Take" Says Uber Should Shed Its Entire Transport Business for the Human-to-Human Gig Economy + He Puts Robotaxi at "$0.60 Cost to Tesla"
Wednesday afternoon, Farzad posted what he called a super hot take: Uber should shed its entire transport business and go all in on the next-gen gig economy between humans. Replying later to a post saying Cybercab seems to be monetizing at $3+ per mile, he put Robotaxi at "$0.60 cost to Tesla." Both are his calls.
"Super hot take": Uber should shed its transport business
Farzad, Wednesday at 1:57pm CT: Super hot take: $UBER will be way better off shedding its entire transport business and going balls to the wall on the next-gen gig economy between humans.
His case starts with what he says are three distinct economies that AI is creating. He calls the AIs agents. In the digital world that means Claude Code, Grok Bot and Muse. In the physical world it means drones, humanoid robots and self-driving cars.
- Human to human: "mostly what we have today."
- Human to agent: "what's starting to take off." That covers people deploying Claude Code or Grok Bot, and later hailing a self-driving car or getting a drone delivery.
- Agent to agent: "where most of the economy is going." He says agents "can work 100000x faster, better, and cheaper than humans," and that this will show up as "Abundance."
On Uber, he says all of its revenue comes from business lines that self-driving cars will disrupt. With players like Tesla able to "spit out self-driving cars at will," he says Uber's value proposition is "extremely exposed." His question: "Why pay the Uber markup when you can get a self-driving car straight from the manufacturer for cheaper, faster, safer, and more consistent?"
His flip side is that humans won't stop wanting things from humans, "ESPECIALLY in the age of abundance." He says that when everyone can afford an expert chef, a luxury massage, a personal trainer or a life coach, those industries will "EXPLODE." He expects them to be one-person or very small businesses that find their clients through Uber. "Uber can be humanity's foundational layer for the human-to-human economy," he wrote. He closed with: "Why isn't Uber doing this already?!"
All of this is Farzad's projection. The revenue point is his read of Uber, and the post doesn't cite any Uber numbers.
He defended the idea in the replies. CernBasher asked what Uber brings that Cozymeal, Zeel, Soothe or TaskRabbit don't. Farzad answered at 2:09pm CT: Everyone has Uber on their phone. CernBasher said they don't think of Uber for those services, and at 2:15pm CT he replied with a mock notification: "You can now hire dogsitters right on Uber! Find the highest rated dogsitters today." rajuvamsi007 said anyone with a smartphone "can vibe code such an app in an hour." At 3:17pm CT he replied: Uber has the network effect.

"$0.60 cost to Tesla"
Gfilche, Wednesday at 3:32pm CT: Cybercab seems to be monetizing at $3+ per mile. No one saw that coming. We'll see how long it lasts but for now Tesla is printing cash $TSLA
Gfilche then asked Grok to estimate revenue per mile "based on real world @robotaxi data." The post doesn't say where the $3+ figure comes from.
Farzad replied at 3:36pm CT: Robotaxi is $0.60 cost to Tesla with a 10:1 Robotaxi to Teleoperator ratio most likely.
That's Farzad's estimate, and "most likely" is his hedge. His reply doesn't say "per mile," but it answers a post about per-mile revenue. It also doesn't say what goes into the $0.60. Read plainly, 10:1 means one teleoperator for every 10 Robotaxis.
Farzad liked Gfilche's post.

"I'm selling our second car"
Polymarket, Wednesday at 8:42am CT: JUST IN: Houston Police Officers' Union encourages residents to use Tesla's expanding Robotaxi service instead of drinking & driving.
The post doesn't link to a statement from the union or say where the union said it.
Farzad liked it and quoted it at 10:38am CT: The second Robotaxi reaches my house, I'm selling our second car.
That's his own plan. He doesn't say when he expects Robotaxi to reach him.

A food-allergy antibody "discovered with the help of Claude"
bjing2016, Tuesday at 7:14pm CT: Today, in collaboration with Anthropic, we're excited to share rapid initial progress towards an antibody treatment for food allergy, which affects over 200 million people worldwide, discovered with the help of Claude. At Divergence Labs, we believe that AI can unlock the next generation of antibody therapeutics with more effective mechanisms than before.
The full post says today's only approved antibody for food allergy, Xolair, mops up circulating IgE, but mast cells stay sensitized for weeks to months. Divergence Labs wants an antibody that actively pulls IgE off its receptor. It says its team worked with Claude to come up with mechanisms, settled on a two-arm antibody format, and within one month designed, made and lab-confirmed the function of both arms. It is now assembling them into full therapeutic formats.
The post speaks for Divergence Labs, and the 200 million figure is the post's own. "Rapid initial progress" is also the post's wording. It doesn't name a specific food allergy or say the antibody has been tested in people.
Farzad RTd it Thursday at 8:40am CT without comment.

Neuralink This Week, episode 2, and early speech data
ALScyborg, Wednesday at 11:34am CT: Neuralink This Week, episode 2. Remembering Nick Wray, Neuralink participant P8. "Be good, do good." @DeadManRolln drove a @maticrobots vacuum with his thoughts. @PairedWith_P7 on the X Takeover stage with @esherifftv and @RyanTanaka. One year of Neuralink in the UK.
The episode is a video, and the text is its rundown. It doesn't say more about Nick Wray or explain how the vacuum control worked. Matic Robots makes robot vacuums.
Disclosure: Matic is one of Farzad's sponsors.
Farzad liked it and RTd it at 1:12pm CT.
Neuralink, Wednesday at 3:02pm CT: Early Neuralink speech restoration data: We are enabling speech to text and voice at conversational rates in participants with ALS. One participant achieved 75 WPM at 5.8% WER on a 125k-word vocabulary in their first week.
WPM is words per minute. WER is word error rate, so 5.8% means roughly 6 of every 100 words came out wrong. These numbers are Neuralink's report on one participant's first week. The post doesn't say how many participants the data covers.
Farzad liked it and quoted it at 3:35pm CT: Absolutely incredible!

Grok Bot gets a referral program
SawyerMerritt, Wednesday at 2:50pm CT: SpaceX has just officially introduced a Grok @Bot referral program. If you refer someone, they get a 2-week free trial of Premium, and when they become a paid subscriber, you get a free usage reset. Each usage reset is valid for 6 months after it's added.
Sawyer lists the eligibility terms. The referrer must be on a paid Premium, Super, or Ultra plan on The 𝕏 Subscription, must be based in the US, and needs "At least 7 days since you checked out." The friend must be new to Grok, located in any country except China, sign up with an eligible email address and enter a credit card at checkout. The post doesn't say how much usage a reset gives back.
Farzad liked it and RTd it at 2:56pm CT.
thisiskp_, Tuesday at 8:26pm CT: It sounds like every 3rd tweet here is a fan boy of Grok @Bot ... It's like iPhone moment for personal agents. Using Bot is easily the most fun I've had while also extending my leverage to 10x in a week. Imagine having a world-class personal secretary (powered by the smartest brains aka models and most importantly by the strongest coding professionals)
The "iPhone moment" line and the 10x are thisiskp_'s own take. Farzad RTd it Wednesday at 10:18am CT.

Shorty did 4.4M views in 7 days
Farzad, Wednesday at 2:09pm CT: Shorty - my Shorts Grok @bot - did 4,400,000 views on YouTube in the last 7 days! Been hearing from y'all how much you've been enjoying the quality! LOTS of work going into optimizing the bot!
That's Farzad's own stat, and the post doesn't break it down by channel or video. The link card on the post describes Shorty as a bot that "Owns YouTube Shorts end-to-end: cut from your long-form playlist, publish after checks, cross-post native video to X, optional TikTok."
Not everyone is sold. At 2:18pm CT, chris_heredia replied that they're not sure they care for "the synthetic content," adding: "It just feels a little off to me." They added that they might feel differently if he didn't advertise how he uses the bots, because "it kind of taints the product for me." Farzad answered at 11:03pm CT: What feels off about the content?

a16z, 10:30am CT: Mark Cuban says the lack of AI adoption in organizations means the "trillionaire in the basement" entrepreneur is coming.
The post quotes Cuban: "AI is not smart. It's book smart maybe, but it's not street smart... You've got to have somebody there who guides it and helps it." It also quotes him saying: "There's no better time to be an entrepreneur than right now. There will be the trillionaire in the basement." The headline framing is a16z's, and the quotes are Cuban's. Farzad liked it.

Farzad, 11:01am CT: 2027 will be the year of Physical AI.
That's his forecast. The post doesn't define the term. His Uber post later that day names drones, humanoid robots and self-driving cars as physical-world agents.
